TTerms of Service (TOS) Brief overview
This is a quick over view of the TOS. In the event of a dispute, the full version of TOS applies, but here are the general ideas:
TOS represents a legal agreement between you the User, and Snangri-La-Dream, (hereafter SLD) a ser vice provider. When you set up your account, that is just like signing an agreement.
The full version of the TOS is a few pages. Why so long? That is because we use larger companies to set up the service, and they have a good set of rules established. Much of the TOS is a “flow down” of the requirements that SLD must agree to in order to purches these services.
Internet access, your programs and your compurer are your responsibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account on SLD or even to visit SLD if you access from the hypergrid.
SLD can’t guarantee that everyone who may join the grid or be present on the grid is actually 18 years old. Act accordingly.
We need to have accurae contact information. We must have a legal name and address, and a falid email
We will not knowingly give out personal information. We take masures to protect it, such as working with reputable companies who we employee to provide the service. We read every day of sites hacked and personally information being stolen, so we can’t guarantee that it will not happen in SLD.
Standards of lawful conduct that apply to you in your first life also apply here.
People work hard to create intelectual property, and it is protected by law. What you creat ourself is yours. What we create here is ours. Stealing of intelectual property is not allowed. For example, setaling original art as a screen shot and misusing it, or taking other peoples inventory items by use of malicious software is not allowed.
Harassment, discrimination, and assult are not allowed or tolerated in any form. If you are not clear on this, it’s spelled out in section 2.5 of the full version of TOS, and it’s also the core of the page on Community Standards.
We wish we could guarantee that SLD will be around forever, but we can’t. Hopefully we will be around for a good long time, but just in case, it’s always a good idea to back up your assets, and your own intelectual property to your on computer.
Violation of the TOS could cause your account to be terminated. Serious violations that are violations of the law can potentially result in arrest or legal action. Even though it’s a vertual reality, the consequences of misusing it can be very real.
