The book was later brought to the big screen as “Lost Horizon” (1937), Starring Ronald Colman and Jane Wyatt. Shangri-La as a mystical, harmonious valley, gently guided Tibetan monks. Shangri-La has become synonymous with any earthly paradise, and particularly a mythical Himalayan utopia – a permanently happy land, isolated from the outside world.
